Hi All,
I recently acquired a nearly new Lenovo W520 (W520(4284-HZ5) I-Core i7-2860QM 2.50 GHz/8GB RAM/500GB laptop. I now want to connect it's displayport to an Accell DisplayPort to 3 DisplayPort Multi-Display MST Hub or a similar unit. However, the Accell & most other units are compatible with only version 1.2 displayport protocol! I have spent a lot of time trying find this both on the Lenovo & numerous other websites to no avail as the version of the displayport for this laptop is not given anywhere!

I was wondering if anyone of you guys might have encountered the same problem and how you solved it If so,I'd love to hear from you,

I just want to make sure that I get the correct version of the DP on W520 before taking the plunge!

Thanks

Continuing the monologue I could forget all about upgrading the Lenovo displayport from v.1.1 to 1.2 simply buy instead an Accell UltraAV® DisplayPort to DVI Multi-Monitor Adapter[/b] can't I?

http://www.accellcables.com/products/ultraav-displayport-to-dvi-multi-monitor-adapter?variant=729675421

Although it's 3 monitor unit and has a combined total resolution of 3840x1024, it outputs only 1280x1024 when all three 3 monitors are used! But if I use only 2 monitors then won't I be able run each monitor at 1920 x 1024 resolution? I don't really need 3 monitors.

Any thoughts on that?

The only other requirement is;
**Recommended: Same type DVI-D Single-Link monitors used, having the same native resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. If different size monitors are used, the adapter will use a resolution common to all 3 monitors.
