Question IdeaPad 330-15IKB with Radeon 530 bluescreens when graphics device is enabled

Hi there

My laptop that I bought little more than a year ago is starting to have bluescreens with the error PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA pointing to system file atikmdag.sys. The problem first appeared when I was in the middle of a game. Searching online I found that it is a graphics card related issue. I have since disabled the device in Device Manager.

The laptop has a Radeon 530 with 4GB GDDR5 memory. I have completely uninstalled (using AMD Cleanup Utility) and reinstalled the graphics drivers to no avail. Windows 10 is updated to the latest version. Would there be something I could do to fix the problem, or is my graphics card dead?

use ddu uninstaller to remove all amd drivers in safe mode and reinstall the amd drivers from the lenovo homepage and not directly from amd

Nope that didn't work. It still bluescreens. Another thing to note, I also dual boot with Linux, and it freezes at boot with the fan spinning loudly when I enable switchable graphics in BIOS

most likely your Radeon Chip is faulty, but you still can check your memory as well
check the memory by running memtest.org usb autoinstaller (bootable USB flash drive)

update the BIOS if not updated yet

Yeah, I did both of those things. That didn't help. But thanks for being helpful.
