Lenovo y50-70 charger beeps when plugged in to the laptop, and doesn't charge.

A few days ago I noticed that the laptop wasn't being charged, and the charger was beeping every few seconds. When I disconnected it from the laptop, the beeping stopped. After trying some basic solutions with no success I looked it up and came to the conclusion that the problem is with the charger, so I decided to buy a new charger today. That one didn't work either. Now I'm pretty convinced that the problem is in the computer, and I'm just wondering if it could be a software issue I could fix myself, or if it's because of broken parts and I have to take it to a shop to get it fixed.

Well, it could be the battery is the problem and not the cord. It could also be the charging circuit on the motherboard.
