Lenovo Y500 suited for video editing?

Helping a friend purchase a laptop for on the go video editing. He is looking at the Lenovo Y500 16GB RAM version. New Egg link here. I know it is a gaming laptop, but I figure the i7 with the Dual GT 650M SLI will help with video rendering. Just curious what everyone thinks and/or if someone can suggest something better. The $1250.00 price tag is in his budget. Thanks!

Its basically the same computer, but instead of the 650SLI its a 3GB GTX670MX for same price

You can get the Y500 on the Lenovo site for $879 on sale with one GPU and you can get the 2nd GPU for $137.

The Y500 would not have any issue with video editing. Very fast laptop.
