The only STANDARD output bus that can send a 1080p or greater resolution signal at 120Hz is Dual Link DVI. That's it!
You need 8 TDMS transmitters to have enough bandwidth. HDMI uses a "single link" or 4 180Mhz TDMS transmitters. This is not enough bandwidth to do it! HDMI 1.4 spec has the OPTIONAL support for 4K resolution. In order to have this support the newer 300Mhz TDMS channel speed will have enough bandwidth!
Problem we have is there is it's not defined in the HDMI 1.4 spec for 1080p 120Hz.
AMD's new HD 7000 series have 300Mhz TDMS transmitters and as such supports 1080p 120Hz via HDMI.
Another problem is we don't have TVs with this input support.
If this TV has 300Mhz support in it's TDMS receiver chipset AND it's firmware/microcode supports AMD HD 7000 series 1080p frame sequential 120Hz HDMI input as well as having DL-DVI with 1020p120Hz support then this TV will become...
