Both companies didn't want to pay the bloodsucking lawyers until it was enough money into it and it seem Sony decided it was for them so they fired the first volley, now they reap the "benefit" from it.

I wouldn't blame LG at all, they just retaliate with a counter suit to the sony aggression and most likely this will be ended outside court before the ps3 sales is stopped.

Then it will take a few years of "innovation" and patent mongering and the next round begins. Isn't todays generic-patent system just great for us customers when we have to pay the bill in the end. /sigh

[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]lol @ LG. Blocking PS3 sales will just end up angering the massive crowd of gamers.[/citation]

speak for other gamers , in the mean time i'll enjoy my LG tv with my xbox 360 ,

not that i'm taking sides here , just think this whole "choose" sides thing is stupid , they are both greedy corperations and both ahve gone out of thier way to screw some one in else in teh past it's what buisness' do ,get over it. LG makes some of the best quality tv's , ps3 is a pretty damn good console. who gives a s--- what patents this or that company have and who gives a crap if they sue each other , the only reason you should compalin or coment on any of this is when both companies raise prices to pay for said lawsuits. other than that choosing sides in this kind of argument , is like choosing sides over who is gonna butt ---- you outta , mike tyson or Evander holyfield.

"The patents in the TV case relate to high-definition receivers, and receiving and processing signals."
Oh, they can get everybody with this one! Get the iPhone too, while your at it. It gets sued for everything else. I'm sure it recieves and processes signals when the user's hand isn't bridging the atenna gap.

[citation][nom]applegetsmelaid[/nom]Stop PS3 sales? LG is crazy.[/citation]

Why not? It's an old, outdated, crappy system with it's only saving grace being that it has a blu-ray player...big deal? Who wants to pay $65+ for the garbage games that come out for it, really, what does Sony got? Dead Space...GT5...anybody? Also, it's been so long (not a good thing) since the release of the PS3 I forgot the exact price, but wasn't it like $700 or something ludacris?

Look what happens when kids graduate from school and no longer have intramural sports in which to vent their steam. It moves right from the football (fotball) field to the courtroom. "I'm cooler..." - "No! *I'M* cooler!"

Grow up, kiddies.

The whole point of having the Blu-ray Disc Association with it's expensive license (of which LG is a board member of) is to prevent crap like this. Ridiculous, absolutely shameless LG, and I don't even like Sony.

Too bad that's only true of their American lawyers, they went to the ITC because they hail from Asia not the US.

I'm going to take the position of anti-Sony fanboi and say "go LG!" while playing my 360 on my Samsung TV.

As much as I hate the constant patent wars, I hate the business practices and philosophy of a few companies even more. So far, Apple and Sony are on that list. Therefore, I have no problem with Sony getting sued over anything.

The original release was $599 for the 60GB version, $499 for the 20GB version. The original release of Blu-Ray players was in the neighborhood of $500. So what's your point, trolling fanboy troglodyte?

Nobody gives a rats @ss what you think about the PS3, mouth breathing knuckle dragger. Now back under your bridge, troll.

US patent system allows human genes to be patented, so what else can't be patented under the stupid, corrupted laws?

I've always been a sony fan. PS2 over xbox anyday but the ps3 was way too much. I'm still planing on getting one but i have sinned. I've been on 360 for a few years now and loving it. So all you ps3 haters go F-yourselves and all you 360 haters go F-yourselves too. They're both great systems although i have to admit not paying for online service and watching blur-rays would be sweet. That said yeah patents are gay, they even have them for the human geno system. All they do is cause unnecessary barriers.

Haha, best..poker game...ever! If PS3 sales are stopped, yes you basically PWNED in the battle of patents. But at what cost to customers? You really think customers won't rebel against the company that banned PS3's?
