Neg all you want noobs... 99% of you own warez on your machines, you're no better than anyone else—thieves!

*My bad about that dub post; wish there was a DEL button...

v12v12, it is obvious though from all the -1 I get on this forum that there are three things you can notice about tom's hardware users: they love apple products (mainly iphone), they love pirating stuff, and they also love to compare how old consoles (ps3 and xbox360) are faster than eachother or have better graphics than one another when this forum originally was all about the PC and making it faster.

[citation][nom]Honis[/nom]Careful, the US Constitution grants power to pursue pirates in all waters. I think the bigger problem will be, if the judge words here sentence stupidly, every bit torrent client can come under fire based on this trial result.[/citation]

It will never happen, because they aren't optimized for songs / movies. Only the websites which host torrent files can be held liable.
Suing BitTorrent would be like suing the internet or ISPs.

I repair computers for a living & over half the ones that have viruses have limewire loaded. More people use it than you think. It will be a good ridance in my opinion just to lessen the viruses. It will hurt my business but I wouldn't wish these viruses on anyone.

Here another one fools like you that say stupid shit

limewire was good and as long as you are not a full blown tard
it was an easy way to DL single tracks as wanted or needed
also a pretty decent torrent client

You sir/madam are a genius. +1 Wish that I could give more rep.

This is what drives me insane, not only do they being the RIAA and many more expect to "profit" from cheaply mass produced crap that they didn't even make and cry foul play when someone wants to use their "product" for free. There is no shortage of legal loop holes to which one can exploit when copying technology and not a finger is lifted. Double standards on their part, they are thieves and yet they expect every one to play by the rules that they them selves break.

If you download a "song" thats 100KB, you get what you deserve. All you people who get viruses obviously need to do a little research, common sense goes 100x further than any antivirus. Besides thepiratebay.org would hijack browsers for the longest time, nothing is ever "free" remember that.

In retrospect I think I'm gonna lose business now that I can't de-virus (trojan/worm/malware) PCs from the majority of people who get infected.

i dont know what people are complaining about..i've downloaded plenty of stuff off of limewire and never get viruses. the only thing that gives me 'virus' search results is when im looking for executables or other program files. audio files are almost always clear for me. Looks like I'll be looking for another P2P soon. Damn RIAA.

lol, did the judge have any legal training?

Google has optimized features to ensure that users can download digital images, the majority of which are protected by copyright but you don't see any art galleries suing them

Spot on. You forgot category 4- thieves who moan about prosecutions as they are scared they themselves will be caught stealing. They normally abuse anyone who thinks stealing is wrong, under the spurious grounds that they are just "testing" that 50Gb of files that they've pulled from their mate's external drive.

I await many minus votes from the thieves.

[citation][nom]Marco925[/nom]It was pretty easy to figure out which were viruses and which were real songs on limewire.[/citation]
Don't underestimate how easily normal people can ignore the fact that a full song that is 100kb and has no length or bitrate at all can possibly be a virus. For them a song is a song they don't check to see if it's real or not, I have had to teach many who bring their comps to me how to find real songs and how to scan them for viruses and they still get viruses.

[citation][nom]bison88[/nom]I hate to say this, but thank god perhaps this will finally kill limewire which has become a safe haven for viruses, trojans, maleware, and more. I don't necessarily agree with the courts, never have, but limewire is complete shit and even the n00bs know better these days, or should.[/citation]
No need to hate, I agree 100% Limewire is probably the single most distributor of virus/malware content in the US. when I used to service PC's and Laptop's that was the cause of most of my customers woe's. Unfortunately there is noob born everyday.
