I just clicked on a link that included linkvertise. Did I get a virus? Please note I didn't click on any ads or download anything from site except doing the google bot thing.

Scan your system for malware (using an app like Malwarebytes). Also, make sure your anti-virus app is updated and perform a scan with it. You are likely okay, but it doesn't hurt to check.
