Longevity of laptop. Need help to buy laptop.

I know Apple laptops are very good. But I'm not able to afford it.
Which laptop brand have better longevity? Are Asus laptops good? I want a laptop which will last long.
I am confused. I really need your help. Thanks in advance for your kind reply.

Anything with a metal casing, and a big hinge, like the MacBooks.

Whatever you do, just don't buy those convertibles, half-notepad, half-laptop.

I hope you are not expecting some in-depth analysis. I hate Dells because they are so square, all sharp angles, hate 'em, and I have said if I can't get a Macbook, an Asus Zen would be my next pick.

Lenovo T, X or P models (depending on your needs) are all very solid. I've worked on 10 yr old T models that felt as solid as new ones, tight hinges, keyboard felt good, nothing was loose.
