Looking for a good display and a dvd drive

I need a new laptop. I'm a light user; mostly web browsing, some movie streaming, and I watch a lot of DVDs. I don't want to use an external drive, as it is much easier to use a built in drive, but if I have no other options I will. I don't need lots of memory or the fastest processor; a DVD drive is much more important than that. I would like an IPS full HD display. I'd like to keep it under $800, but I could go a little higher for the display and a dvd drive.

Will be difficult finding something that matches your specs for below $800. Lenovo Thinkpads and Macbooks have great displays, but they are quite pricey. Maybe you should look for a laptop model which was release last year to save some money. When performance is not that important to you and you're looking for DVD drives this could be an option.

For a good display under your price tag you can go for Lenovo , IBM or Dell.

IBM no longer sells laptops. They sold their ThinkPad division to Lenovo in 2005 or 2006.
