The capabilites of an i7 outperform the capabilites of an i5. So your you look at performance yes it is better but if you look at bettery life the i5 will probably have better performance. the same goes with the i3 versus the i5 as the i5 will perform better and cost more.

i hear what your saying, and you prob know more about this then me, I use these forums for help more then anything, and I also use that site alot.
But there are i5 processors rated higher then some i7 processors. If you look closley the i5 has higher Ghz then the lower rated i7 but im just saying dont do what I did years ago and see somthing that says
Intel i7 and think its auto better then an i5
also this may be an obvious statement but I was pretty dumb when it came to computers back then. Know I just know to do research before buying
