Laptop will be used for business school and work.
Needs to be light and should have good battery life.
Budget - not more than CAD 1800
I was looking at xps 13 9360.
I7-8550u, 8gb , 256gb

Can you suggest if this is good, or recommend any other laptops that are.

Would also be interested to know if there are any laptops that are not heavy, have a good battery life and can be be used for gaming as well.

What you have picked out is probably the most powerful CPU you can get in a 13" laptop, so a good choice for your primary goal. The Intel integrated graphics aren't terrible, so light gaming is within its capabilities. Things like World of Warcraft, CS:GO, Fortnite, and quite a long list of popular games will run on it. High end FPS titles like Farcry 5 or Battlefield 1, not so much.

Some of the late model laptops with Nvidia's Max-Q technology are basically ultrabooks with 1000 series graphics cards. Probably not going to find a 13" laptop with that feature. They would be 15" or 17" laptops. Graphics cards do require power, so be prepared for a larger/heavier power brick, even if the laptop is fairly light.

I'm not too sure where in Canada to buy laptops from. Poke around and see if anything meets your budget with a Geforce 1050, 1050Ti or GTX1060 3GB/6GB
