i have a 50 inch tv, mod. num. p50h401. i took it down and it sat unplugged for about 2 months, while i remodeled the room. i know that it was not dropped or jarred in in any way, for i took it down and stored it in a closet. when i hooked it back up, it wont even come on. i've been told that these tv's are known for this from time to time, and that it is probably a bad capacitor. as i am sure that there is are more than one capacitor in this tv, i was hoping you could lend a little guidance. thanks.

Quick research shows that your TV has three power supply boards powering different sections of the Panel and the rest of the system. They are removable and you can isolate which one is the problem by removing it and powering on the TV.

You will need to locate working boards somewhere in order to replace them.

Other options would be to search for damaged or blown capacitors on these boards and find/order replacements. If you are are familiar with soldering and locating damaged components it can be an easy fix.
