I need to find a laptop that is good for programming and gaming, my budget is £500 as I'm a student, hope someone can help.
I found one laptop which I think is pretty good, I just feel that I'm paying more that I should and could find something better,(feel like I'm paying for the limited edition rather than the specs) its the hp pavilion star wars edition i5, gt940m, 6gb

The one you have listed is tough to beat. It has a dedicated graphics card and most in this price range use on board graphics. You can game with the onboard graphics like the one below, but you will be limited to less demanding games or running newer games at low and medium settings.

I'm not an expert by any means but from my limited research (in the quest to buy my own gaming laptop) it seems if it overheats the laptop will 'throttle' the performance and you'll start to see performance hitches and possibly shutdowns.

Thanks alot, I just don't want to play it and accidentally blow the laptop up, and I think I'm gonna try and convince my parents to add an extra £100 to my budget hahah, but if not ill just settle with this
