So for over 2 years now I guess, I have been using a Turtle Beach Ear Force Foxtrot headset and the time has come where my shaky soldering can no longer suffice to repair them again. (Normally every 6 months)
I am looking for a new headset in the range of preferably under £50 ($80 if shipping is available), less meaning sooner, sooner is better.![Smile :) :)](/styles/bom/smilies/smile.gif)
I have been pretty happy with my headset for the time I have been with it minus the breaks. Key points I'd like in a new one are comfort and breathing on the cups, clear audio for gaming, Skype and light movie-watching and a sturdy, clear mic. I am definitely not an audiophile and as long as there isn't hissing, rattling or 'tinny' sound I would probably be quite happy. USB is a plus as I have no dedicated sound card, as is surround sound if available.
It would be almost tempting to get the same headset again but I can imagine there might be better options out there. If it means a significant jump in quality I may be convinced to wait some time and double my budget? But I need a monitor after this too so I'd rather save a bit.
Options I've been looking at include Logitech G430s, Plantronics GameCom 380s and Razer Kraken Pros but they seem to have some nasty flaws in the reviews section so I am unsure.
Anyway, kindly convince me if you would, what options above or otherwise would you suggest?
Edit: Settled on waiting and getting Logitech G35's after looking around more.
