Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a new laptop/ultrabook for school.
I am currently taking a computer engineering course the course is very Virtual Machine intensive.
My last few years of school I've been working with a Gateway NV59 with a i3-330m and I upgraded the ram from 4GB to 8GB. Its time for a upgrade to say the least.
I currently have a beefy desktop so I don't really need anything too powerful or anything to play games. Just something powerful enough to run a few VMs at once, so obviously the processor/motherboard has to support Virtualization.
I am looking for portability. Something slim would be preferable.
14" screen would be ideal. It would be amazing if it were possible to get a 1080p display but I think that's far-fetch.
A dedicated graphics would also be ideal. Nothing major but I hate laptops that have integrated video.
at least 8GB of ram. But I dont mind upgrading myself.
SSD but again I dont mind doing this myself.
I like Intel processors.
Here is a few I have in mind.
ASUS U47VC
ASUS S46CM
Any Ideas in what I should look at? Any preferences?
Just like to get as much research before actually making a purchase.
My budget is ~$1,000
