Looking for a new laptop

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a laptop that's very light in weight and has screen bigger than 14 inch. The best one i found is Panasonic Toughbook F9. it is 3.57lbs and 14.1 inch. Can anyone suggest something better? I need it as light as possible and budget is not a concern. Thanks.

toughbooks are really expensive, the F9 is like 2700 bucks. so money is really not a concern for you. im still looking but i havent found anything under 5 lbs.

Take out the removable DVD drive and replace it with an 'air bay' to reduce the weight even further.

Shave a few more ounces off the total weight by replacing the HDD with a SSD.

Actually, it looks like changing out the typical 2.5" 5400rpm HDD 4.1 oz with a 160GB SSD like the Intel 320 SSD 3.1 oz is only going save a single ounce.
Not hardly enough to get excited about.

nice find on the t420s

although it says 3.68lbs on neweggs, the official site says the weight starting at 1.87kg which is 4.12lbs.

and i prefer not to have the hassle to have to change the dvd drive everytime i need it. i need a laptop as it is and light weight > specs > price. Thanks.

the one on neweggs has ssd and the one on lenovo has hdd, maybe that's why it's lighter. it's a good deal if it's 3.68lbs consider it's specs and price.
do you have any other suggestions?
