Hi I am an Architectural Design Student and need a mobile workstation to run 3D design software/programs such as Solidworks and Autodesk.
Im looking to buy an MSI or an Alienware laptop unless there's something better, original I was about to buy an Asus Rog GL55JW-DS74 but I was concerned with longevity.
I want something that I can upgrade everything on (gpu, cpu, ram, and storage) when it becomes outdated and obsolete.
What I want from the laptop is a high quality display(touchscreen would be cool but not essential) as well as the ability of displaying on 2-3 independent external monitors for multitasking and rendering images, and run other essential programs at the same time, cooling efficiency and sustainable components that won't burn up or overheat.
Specs I'm interested in getting or upgrading to are: i7 unless i5 will manage untill I need to upgrade, a good gpu with the latest graphics features for interactive manipulation on projects during my design process on large models, upgradeable memory up to 24 or 32 but 8-16GB at first will do, and upgradeable storage hdd+ssd.
So my question is what's the best laptop for my needs? Budget would be $1800 or less unless I can get the payments broken down like the dell preferred account payment method.
Please help me make a competent decision, Thank you.

The only laptops I am aware of featuring replaceable graphics are Clevo based models. In the US Clevos are sold under the Sager brand
This is a listing of all the laptops XoticPC provide that have interchangeable graphics http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-laptops-with-switchable-video-cards-ct-95_51_290.html
There really aren't too many options
You might look at some of Alienware's offerings since they are producing an adapter to accommodate full size graphics http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/alienware-graphics-amplifier?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&sku=452-BBRG
Hope it helps some
