Hi all,
I've asked this before, sorry...but I've changed my requirements since then...I'm looking for a laptop with the following perimeters...:
1_What is your budget?
$1500
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
12-13.3" strictly only. If there is a 12" that is faster than a 13" then the 12" is preferred
3_What screen resolution do you want?
Won't matter. No touchscreens, please
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable.
5_How much battery life do you need?
5..6...7 hours?...the more the better! 5 Hours minimum, if possible
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
No, no games at all.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)
Word processing, web browsing (e.g. facebook, Toms hardware, etc...), Skype, Youtube 720p.
I also need 2GB or more RAM, but 2GB is already enough
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Won't matter...120GB would be minimum
9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
Harvey Norman... http/www.harveynorman.com.au/
officeworks http/www.officeworks.com.au/
Will be buying from physical store, not online or internet.
10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
A good few years...preferable at least 2.5 years
11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Won't matter...at least if I have a built in that can read CD's and DVD's it's good enough. No Bluray. Best if the drive is built-in.
12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Accepting following brands only:
ASUS - Seen these laptops boot up sooooo quickly!
Toshiba - Heard about their good quality laptops
Sony - Heard about their loooonnngggg battery life!
Will not accept brands at all:
HP and Compaq - expierenced problems including hardware failures (such as hard drive failures) and overheating
Acer - Expierenced problems including not turning on
13_What country do you live in?
Australia
14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
- Please provide me with multiple suggestions...not just one just like in my last thread...and give me as many as you can, please!
- Windows 7, please. Any edition would do
- (If possible) avoid laptops that attract fingerprints (for example, shiny reflective mirror-like chassis, if you know what I mean)
- No AMD processors...please
- avoid any other colors other than white, grey, silver, and black
- Try to have fan intake and output be both on the side, not bottom
Basically what I'm looking for is a netbook standard laptop except it is slightly faster, has a 12-13" screen, has a long 5+ hour battery life, has a optical drive and 2GB or more RAM.
Thanks for your help...I hope its not too complicated my requirements...

EDIT: Please make the laptop as lightweight as possible
EDIT2: No need to consider heat...
EDIT3: No HP, Compaq or Acer
