A friend of mine is looking for solutions to watch downloaded videos on her living room TV. Among all the solutions I see I though of the following:
Asus O!Play
■PlayStation 3
■XBox 360
Nixeus Fusion HD (latest I read about)
What would be the best solution considering that she doesn't have an HDTV (yet), has wireless networking but could probably run a network cable to the TV as a last resort?

I'm leaning a bit more toward the XBox 360 right now (the 4GB model) because of relatively low price, built-in wireless both SDTV and HDTV support, but I would be glad to hear your ideas. Personally I'm using my PS3, but I thought the extra 100$ for the BD player was a bit of a waste since she has SDTV.

Stream from internet directly (like Netflix or Hulu) is bonus, but streaming from a home media server would be the prime use.

Egreat's R200,R1II, will open its webkit, allow user to add some of their favourite web page.
what kind of home media server your friend need?

Right now her desktop PC (Vista or Win7, not sure) would be the server, she also has a WDR3700 router that can act as a media server I think.

R200IIPLUS with USB3.0 port, and support WIFI card with dual attena which use to enhance speed. recently, Egreat launced new firmware 2.1.2.7 (2011-07-06), that open webkit, so you friend could add some favourite webpage to R200II PLUS.
these function your friend may interest.
