As a college student and a gamer I'm looking for a decent gaming laptop for both school work as well as running the latest pc games.

As the topic says, I'm looking for laptops mainly around the $700 Canadian mark and can possibly squeeze up to $1000 Canadian.

There are also several criterias I'm looking at:
-Definitely not a MAC notebook.
-The laptop must run 64-bit OS.
-The manufacturing company of the laptop supports both CPU and GPU upgrades.

What laptop(s) can you recommend for me?

Solution
Yeah! You are correct. That would be a great addition. I just suggested the 2nd keeping in mind to keep the cost as low as possible... Go for the 3rd model.
Lenovo Y-series will be great for you.

Lenovo Y510p (2nd model):

Lenovo Y410p (2nd model):

I'd suggest you to go for Y510p, coz it has FHD 15.5" Screen which is ideal for gaming. If you want 14", go with Y410p.

What's your opinion on the 3rd model (the one that's @ $929)? I notice for the hard drive, it has the 24GB SSD and 1TB 5400 RPM.

I'm not much of a technical person but I do know that SSDs run programs a lot faster than magnetic hard drives. I was thinking of using SSDs mainly for running program executables and the 1TB for storing data.
