So long story short, my mom has a laptop that is about 3 years old. It didnt handle the Win10 upgrade well and the thing is suuupppper slow. Its extremely frustrating to use. I have no idea how she does it. Between it being older, the bloatware, and it not handling Win10 well, I have decided to get her a new one for mothers day.

At first I was going to go with a Microsoft Signature series to bypass all the bloatware, but decided against that as I will install a fresh clean copy of Win10 when I get the laptop .

In a somewhat brief search, I came across this laptop :

Any ideas or thoughts?

The Lenovo Flex 4 is definitely a significant upgrade from the AMD E-300 laptop. However, it may be overkill your mom especially if all she does is surf the net and write emails. Perhaps something less expensive will be good enough for her needs such as the following 15.6" Acer laptop with a Core i3-7100u and 1080p screen for $350.

It does not have a touch screen or a SSD, but is still a significant improvement over the AMD E-300 laptop. 4GB of RAM should be fine, but upgrading it to 8GB of RAM with another 4GB RAM stick will cost less than $40 and it is a pretty simple upgrade. Additionally...

I suppose I could, but seeing how its an older laptop (AMD E300 and 4gb of RAM) I wanted to get her something nice for Mothers Day.

Additionally, if she wants the laptop to be more responsive, you can always replace the 1TB HDD with a SSD later on.
