Loss of sound with headphones

When plugging in the sennheiser headphones I get sound but tv goes mute. Nowhere at back of sky Q box to plug in jackplug

That's the way most headphone jacks work.
If your Sky Q box has active audio outputs you could connect a headphone amplifier to it for wired headphones or a bluetooth transmitter for wireless ones.
