My Asus ROG G750JW just one day had a black screen, But I can hear the computer running and the light is on. I tried connecting to another screen or TV, but it won't give any signal. I've tried a lot of stuff like removing harddrive and battery. But it seems like I somehow lost connection to/and signal from my screen. Anyone know what I could have possibly done or if there is a solution to the problem?
If you connected it to an external display correctly, including how to connect to a monitor below, and it is still showing blank on any screen, then your graphics card/GPU is probably shot and needs replacing. If the device is still under warranty, then I would contact the manufacturer.
1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.
NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.
If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.
If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.
