Low budget laptop

Hello, i'm buying a laptop for school and my friend told me this one is the best
TOSHIBA SATELLITE C50D-A-023 AMD A6-5200 QUAD-CORE PROCESSOR, 500GB, 6GB DDR3. i will only use it for internet browser and school work, can anyone tell me if this laptop is all i need if any other option please tell me, thank you all!!!!

I used to think Toshiba made great laptops but in a half a year or so it became obsolete. I recommend getting any laptop with Windows 7! to use for school because in my opinion Windows 8 is a pain in the ass currently. If you will be using this for schoolwork and internet browsing you can get any Windows 7/ Windows 8 computer, but make sure the Windows 8 one is a newer one. (maybe even one with a touchscreen?). The thing is with the new windows 8 laptops is I find that they're easier to handle and carry in your backpack. Some tips so your computer will last you a long time: Get the programs MalwareBytes and CCleaner (they're extremely helpful) and for the love of god, buy a carrying/protective case. Get the extra warranty that covers drops.
Toshibas have always treated me fine but they do make some low end stuff (who doesn't) that I wouldnt ever touch. My Toshiba uis 5 yrs old and the grandkids still use it whenever they come over.
