Low end laptop or a tab ?

Hi ,
Would a tab be a better investment to a low end laptop as far as engineering bachelor studies are related ? Budgets all under 400$.
Sorry if the question is stupid but I do not have a tab till now. 🙁 Thanks in advance.

I would say the laptop. You can type papers easily and load any engineering software which might be required for class work.

Laptop, no question about it. You will almost certainly need to install some programs for school. While you can often find them installed on lab computers, having your own copy makes homework a lot easier.

Won't the purpose of the phone be solved in the same exspenses. As far as I know pages can be printed from tab too - can't they ?

Definitely a laptop, Engineering degrees tend to require software that won't run on a tablet. Tablets are nice, but they are still best as just a consumption device, not as your main computer.
