Maybe I've missed the forum, but I'll ask anyway...
What was the price of an average music album in 70s and 80s on LP, and on audio cassettes? Rough estimate?

In the 1970's the prevailing price for LPs was $8.99 in the U.S. I think cassettes were about the same. I remember that Tom Petty objected to his record label wanted to introduce "premium pricing" for one of his new albums I think in the early 1980's and charge $9.99, but he prevailed and it was released for $8.99.
