This vehicle would probably only be pratical in some countries such as Germany, where the highly-engineered Autobahn has very tight tolerances (the roadbed is about twice as thick as North American freeways, are much better maintained, have tight tolerances for smooth curves, are virtually pothole-free, and twice as much money is spent on the roadway per kilometer).

The superbus would go over 100mph very safely (well, at least safer than the average American car) on the German autobahn; but definitely very unsafe to run the Superbus anywhere in North America, IMHO.

This bus is full of fail.

Pluses:
-Light weight
-Personal space for each passanger
-High speeds

Fails:
-Electric engine
-Limited amount of passengers
-low ride height on long vehicle.

The images may be an optical illusion that makes the bus look longer than it really is. It appears the vehicle only has 11 rows of seats. How many rows of seat in a typical inner city bus?

[citation][nom]Drethon[/nom]To make public transit attractive to me, I don't care how luxurious it is I just don't want a round trip to take 15 minutes to an hour longer than I can get somewhere in my own car. Fix that and I'll never drive to work again...[/citation]
Just give me a bus that runs at the proper time (my boss runs in the morning only, I work in the night).
The city has a light rail transport system, but the maintenance costs are ridiculous.

I was junk thinking about the Autobahn. What a beautifully maintained road.
Too bad population is too low in most of Canada to even bother making one super pimp road.
Skytrain systems are really nice though (or subway, depends on the area). I would love it if my city had a complete skyhtrain/subway (or hybrid) system.

Who would you trust to drive you at 130mph?
Is the thing going to get its own lane? otherwise it is worthless. If it does get it's own lane then it's a monumental waste of money.

Where do you live near Vancouver that the bus only runs in the morning? The only areas that buses usually don't run is wealthy areas (keeps them poor folk out). Oh and the train may be expensive, but it is definitely faster than the bus.

I estimate as soon as 23 people are on the bus, and the bus meets a small bump in the road, that it'll get stuck, and the chassis might even bend to the floor..
That'll be bye bye 'superbus'.
