m4n68t-m le v2 mobo max ram?

hi i have an asus m4n68t-m le v2 motherboard and im using both ram sockets . 2x 4gb geil dragon 1600mhz total 8gb .
i have never wanted to use more than 8gb ram since years bcoz 8gb was enough for gaming, and bcoz of my job i couldnt play games like before .but now for the most of new games we need 16gb as they recommend .
i wanna buy 2x 8gb but i did search and have doubts, in some websites says : specs of my mobo 16gb max memory and some say 8gb.
and in a forum a guy said that he have same mobo and he put 2x 8gb and it works great however max memory is 8gb . so what should i do?
i want to know about your experience guys if any of you tried 16gb or more than 8gb like 12 with this mobo .

Upgrading only the RAM won´t help much and 8GB will still be fine with newer games because of your system´s age.

Anyways the memory QVL list states that this motherboard is supporting 2x8GB memory

thank you . im using rx 470 and ii x4 b95 doing well getting full frame in games of day .
and btw i risk and bought 2x 8gb apacer ram 1600 . i put in slots and started pc ... works great
