MacBook (13-inch, Early 2009)

So I was given a Macbook 13-inch from Early 2009. It's the all white one. I was trying to wipe the drive which I was able to do successfully but whenever I try and reinstall the OS as a fresh install I keep getting the message that it's temporary unavailable. I am trying to restore it to Mavericks and then upgrade to Snow Leopard. Any way around this aside from purchasing the OS from Apple itself?

Mavericks came after snow leopard so I am assuming you meant the other way around. You are legally allowed to install the original OS on that MacBook so you will need to Google where to get the OS and how to put it onto a USB drive or DVD. Then boot to that and it should be able to install.
