MacBook pro able to get Ibooks?

I want to get books on my MacBook pro I got but am unsure how to go about it.

From what it looks like on I tunes is that I need to have a Ipad or I phone to get Ibooks.

Sure I am overlooking something. 😗

Hello bosa;

As far as I know iBooks is written for the iOS operating system. It's not compatible with OSX, Windows or Linux.

There are lots of eBooks that aren't locked into the 'Apple Universe'. You can get them from Barnes & Noble or Amazon.
