I have a Macbook5,1 Late 2008 Unibody running on OS X 10.5.8
I can't buy a new computer and this one is slow, loud and overheats

I was thinking of buying an SSD (probably the Samsung 840EVO)
upgrading my ram from 2GB to 4GB
upgrading OS X up to LEOPARD

Would that work properly with the machine I have?
and if there's a better SSD suited for my LATE2008?

*also I mainly use it for Photoshop, Illustrator + lots of images, lots of music. thank you!!

Do you mean snow leopard? (10.6) It should give you a nice boost over 10.5.8.
Since your macbook only has sata2 ports, just about any SSD should be ok. Just avoid kingston
Personally i have a OCZ vector 460 (the new ones) in my mac and samsung 840 pro on the PC - both work fine.

I got it because it was on sale for Black friday. My mac is a 2010 15 inch macbook pro. SATA is backwards compatible so SATA3 drives should work fine with SATA1 and SATA2 ports
