Mackbook air or Ultrabook

Hello i am considering purchasing a laptop and this will be my first as i have build my own computer and never felt the need to buy one. However i will be travelling more and going to university next year and was looking to spend a max of £1000. I also would love a touchscreen on the ultrabook and to have lots of battery life. The main use would be entertainment and programming and some Microsoft office work.

Macbook Air is nice. If you want to browse noteworthy competition in terms of build quality, take a look at Samsung and perhaps Asus. Asus has a touchscreen model known as V551LB-DB71T that would probably suit your needs and budget.
