Solved! Magic Remote Won't Pair

I have a 49" LG UM7000PLA TV, the magic remote won't pair with it when I point it at the TV and press the ok button, I've tried restarting the TV, any suggestions?

Weak batteries in the remote?
Inteference due to light dimmers or something else in the room. Try it with the lights off.
