I bought an hdmi splitter cable and am trying to output video/audio from my wii u to my tv and my computer using an Avermedia U3 capture card. Unfortunately whenever i try to split the audio and video from my Wii u it adds many red/blue lines to my TV screen, and my computer picks it up too. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and if they have a fix for it. PS: The splitter cable is not powered by an external power source. Just my Wii u. Another thing to note is that whenever i plug in the second hdmi cable to the splitter the TV screen goes black until i plug in my capture card to my computer via usb.

Did you buy something like this?

http://www.amazon.com/Female-Splitter-Adapter-Cable-MOTONG/dp/B00R07P470/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1453172908&sr=8-4&keywords=hdmi+splitter

Note that the splitter does not work with "2 HDMI TV at the same time" which is, in effect what you are trying to do.

If the output video/audio works either one way (the TV) or the other (the Avermedia card) but not both then the cable is not going to do the job.

You will need to identify a HDMI splitter that can really output to two simultaneous devices.
