Make something out of old laptops.

Hi all,

This is my first post. I'm not sure which section this would belong, so I posted in Laptops as it is what I have to use.

I basically have 2 old laptops, both with dead batteries and screens, but wondered if I could somehow make them into media centres for tv's or something of the like, in the way of a rasberry pi like configuration.

Would something like that be possible?
Just interested in a nice little project for the summer 😛

Hi JKL1992, What ports do your laptops have? what OSes do they run? if You plug the charger do they work? what interface are the hard drives and what ram does it use? if you can tell me things like that i can help you, however i find it annoying when i get no information at all so i will tell you a few things. If i does work when plugged into the wall and has a display and audio port of some kind you could use it as a media hub. You could also make a file server. if not you could take out the hard drives and ram and use them in a low power pc build. i hope this is helpful!
