Given that we now have the multiverse in the MCU, I'm not sure how we can tell what is and isn't canon any more. Agents of Shield and Agent Carter might not officially be canon any more, but you could easily argue that they are part of the multiverse, just not the sacred timeline.

Personally I would like to see a return of some of these characters. For example, why not have an Agent Coulson variant in a future season of Loki - that could make for an extremely awkward yet amusing encounter between the two characters, plus it could firmly establish these earlier shows as being part of an alternate timeline, if Marvel so wished.
