[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]"Many people believe Mr. Assange to be innocent, myself included. Many people believe the prosecution to be politically motivated." AND many think he's guilty. He's never getting out of prison. Once the Swedes are done the DOJ will have filed charges and extradite him. Assange is an egomaniac who's 15mins are up. Visa pulled the plug too. Keep it going![/citation]
And if you go back through the history, you'll see that he tried to work with the sweedish prosecution always, but was always rebuffed. Hell, he even asked if he could leave the country, and they said "Sure!"
The people who think he's guilty just read the headlines, not delve into the meat of the story.
The fact that the women kept a positive relationship with him afterward untill they found out he was seeing someone else, and even then had to be goaded on by a lawyer to press charges? come on.
And file what charges? Read up on the Pentagon papers first before commenting like an idiot. The Supreme court said that its not illegal to publish secret information, just to violate the trust the government puts into you if you are given a clearance.
"Only a free and unrestrained press can effectively expose deception in government. And paramount among the responsibilities of a free press is the duty to prevent any part of the government from deceiving the people and sending them off to distant lands to die of foreign fevers and foreign shot and shell." —Justice Black June 30 1971
