Solved! Mibox s and sony Ht-rt40

I have xiaomi mibox s and planning to buy a sony ht-rt40 home theatre, can the audio output of mibox s can accomodate 5.1 surroud? I am using old led tv.

Connect the Sony to the HDMI-ARC port on the TV.
Turn ARC on in the TV audio menu. You may also have to turn the TV speakers off. You could also use the TV optical audio output instead if you don't have enough HDMI inputs on the TV.
Connect the mibox to the TV with HDMI. You will then need to configure the mibox to output in 5.1.
