I currently have a HP envy notebook and any of my programs (discord, skype etc) are not able to pick up my microphone. BUT my computer itself is able to pick up input (i.e. when i look at the recording microphones there are bars moving to see that there is input).

I tried to reset my computer and the priority setting along with just regular settings on my microphone.

Also running widows 10 btw.

Thanks for any help in advance

See if this helps it...

  1. Go to "Control Panel".
  2. Click on "Sound".
  3. Click the "Recording" tab.
  4. Click on the device you are trying to fix.
  5. Now click the "Configure" button and then click "Set up Microphone".
  6. Once that is complete, click the "Properties" button.
  7. When you are done with your changes, in "Properties", click "Apply" and then "OK".
  8. Then click "OK", again, on the main "Sound window".
