Microsoft is taking a restrictive/limited approach with it's latest phones. The 550, 650 or the 950s are not compatible with Verizon Wireless and Sprint in the US. While neither carrier has enough Windows Phone users to sufficiently boost sales numbers had compatible versions been made, it indicates that Microsoft might be emptying out the Lumia line in advance of a major push with the anticipated Surface Phone.
