I'm excited about 343. Bungie controlled Reach for a year and never released a patch, despite the outcry about players not having any control over some controversial changes. 343's first move? Gather feedback and put out a patch to give people this control. How well will they preserve the Halo spirit with a new game? We'll see. MANY players feel Bungie lost touch with Reach anyway...
As far as the console vs PC debate goes, PC fanboys are blowing things way out of proportion. First of all, professional console gamers were not involved, at least not the way people make it out to be. They might have been professionals in the sense that they were consultants or testers, but I've found absolutely no information to suggest and "MLG Pros" were involved. Saying those players would lose to average PC players is obvious bull to anyone who's played a shooter. Having good aim helps, but there's a hell of a lot more you need to be good at to win.
If two players of the exact same skill (and equally good with their respective aiming format) were matched, then yes, the PC player would win. But that's pretty much never the case.
Think of the mentality and overall skill of an average console player compared to that of an average PC player. PC players tend to be more "hardcore." The average PC player is better than you average console player. Not because you use a different method of aiming, but simply because of the differing types of players the two platforms attract.
PC players would win more, but it's not because of a mouse. It's because the average PC player is better than the average console player.
Also, I just have to add that if your idea of auto-aim on a console comes from CoD, that's why you think it's so ridiculous. Compared to Halo and other console shooters, the CoD series has AA on steroids. It's to the point that it often interferes with aim instead of helping it.
