Mid-priced laptop for heavy-duty internet/microsoft word usage + mild/moderate gaming?

Hi, could anyone suggest some laptops that can be used for intensive typing and internet usage, and yet can occasionally provide me with a decent gaming experience (for games like Sims 3)?

(Sorry, I'm not a tech-savvy person so I can't go into the specifics of what kind of RAM or processor I'd like)

Bonus if it's about 15.6", has a battery life longer than 3 hours, and is not too heavy (doesn't have to be slim though).

Also would be great if the laptop is from a somewhat mainstream brand (e.g. acer, asus, dell) so that I know who to chase should my laptop give way.

Am looking at Dell Inspiron 15 7000 as well - any reviews/stories on this?

Not too fussy on the price - although the cheaper the better!

Thank you!

EDIT: Not sure if this helps but I'd like to upgrade from an Acer Aspire S3 - looked nice and really light when I bought it but it's only been 3 years in and the touchscreen's malfunctioned, charging port became loose and now the right arrow key on the keyboard doesn't work (I suspect it's because of a hardware issue). Good times.

Thanks for the recommendation on dell! I think it's the 7559 I was looking at so I might just go for that if there's nothing else (I did read online (not sure how true that is) that the sound system and keyboard are a bit lacking - not good if I want to do some hardcore typing)!

Just as an extra question - do you perhaps have any other non-dell recommendations that may fit my criteria? I'll definitely check out dell now, but now I'm just wondering if there was any other competitor models that i could consider that have roughly the same specs. Thanks!

well as to the keyboard kinda sucking its not as bad as people say but what do you expect from probably the cheapest gaming laptop on the market they had to cut corners to bring it to you and the speakers and keyboard were among them. I do have a few links for you to look at.

Sager:

XoticPc:

I know this ones expensive but the sager one linked here is a good deal at that cost if you add windows 10 in you have a great gaming laptop. even more powerful than the inspiron by a lot.

and finally heres a couple more companies to look at

Origin Pc:
https://www.originpc.com/

CyberPowerPC:

Those are all good options Look at all the laptops they all offer and pick one I guess, they are all good :)
