Mobile Hotspot issue

Does anyone know if there's an issue with the mobile hotspot feature for the, samsung galaxy on5 with metropcs? After a certain period of time my Xbox one will constantly disconnect from it (never timeout option selected).

It may not be the phone or the hotspot feature. It may well be your service provider/carrier. Especially if you are using a lot of data, which games do use. I would check with them.

It does it when I'm gaming and that barely uses up data

Are you sure about that? Games are much more intensive. The info about how much is being used that shows on the phone itself may well not be correct. Many carriers also slow you down from 4G to 3G or even 2G after the data reaches a certain point. And there is the time of day factor. When they are busier, the can often slow down the data.

I asked somewhere else and someone mentioned something called doze that could be killing my hotspot application. Any information on that?

What that is referring to is the screen going black. Like the phone normally would once you are done using it. This, on some phones, can disconnect the hotspot connection. If that is the case on your device, the way around that is to make it so the phone never goes dark, while you are using it as a hotspot. The drawback would be that it would use up much more of the phones power, since the screen would never sleep.

Is there no way to keep the mobile hotspot app from shutting down with my screen off?

That depends on the settings in that particular device. Many devices are different in this respect due to the fact that manufacturers and service providers/carriers really prefer they not be used that way. As hotspots. You would have to check the settings directly for the hotspot option
