i dropped my phone down toilet. it died wouldnt switch on. 2 weeks later it turned on but only lasts for 20 mins gets hot n cuts off again

im looking to see if i just need to invest in a new battery for a water damaged phone. i dropped my phone down toilet it wouldnt switch on for 2 weeks. then it did and works for short periods of time before heating up n switching off.....
