Hello!
I emailed Motorola about syncing their V710 using Phone Tools 2.0 and
Bluetooth.
I asked "I want to switch from AT&T to Verizon in about a month. I was
considering a V710 on Verizon, but most newsgroup posts say that it is not
possible to sync a phone book with a PC via the Phone Tools 2.0 software.
Are you going to give us the ability to sync to a PC in the near future?"
I got these two replies.
1) "Regarding your e-mail, we are very sorry to tell you that currently the
Motorola V710 phone distributed in North America does not support Mobile
Phone Tools over a Bluetooth connection. A solution will be available by
November 2004. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you very much for
your patience, we do appreciate it."
2) "Regarding your concern, currently the Motorola V710 phone distributed in
North America does not support Mobile Phone Tools over a Bluetooth
connection, only via a USB connection. You will only be able to sync the
phonebook and the datebook of the V710. Camera pictures can only be
retrieved using the download service offered by Verizon Wireless. A solution
will be available by November 2004."
The second reply indicates that you currently can sync phone and date books
via USB. I just asked them if their November solution will allow retrieval
of pictures as well, since it was not clear if their solution is only going
to add Bluetooth syncing of phone and date books.
I'll update this information when I get their answer.
