Hello. I am a newbie to this site so go easy on me lol. Now onto my question. I bought my msi R6950 1gb Twin Frozr III card around the beginning of December and am just now researching ways to maximize its performance. This is the card I bought btw.

To make it short and sweet, i would like to know if i can use MSI's custom bios and instructions to unlock the shaders on this 1gb card from 1408 to 1536 & increasing overclocking limits on afterburner. I just want to know if anyone was successful (1 GB) because i have looked everywhere in every forum and have not gotten a definitive answer on this. Everyone pretty much tells me what i could do with a 2gb 6950 but i just want to know what to do with a 1gb version. I know i can't unlock it with a 6970 custom bios... I just want to unlock the shaders and increase the overclock limits. These are the instructions that were posted from MSI on unlocking the 6950 shaders:

Honestly, i just want a definitive explained answer on this as it will help a bunch of other people with 1gb cards whom have struggled with searching and finding only 2gb answers. If there is a different way to unlock just the shaders on a 1gb MSI 6950 twin frozr III (just the shaders, i don't want a 6970 modded bios as i only have 1gb) please share and post. Thank you in advance.

just to follow up... tried the custom msi bios, didnt work for me, noticed the device ids were off by a number when doing the atiflash in dos. before doing this i made sure switch on top of card was for dual bios, so i was easily able to revert. i dont recommend the custom bios, i think it was for an older version of these cards.
