msi GT70 2pc is it worth upgrading gpu

Hi guys

This is my first thread so please be nice with me if I make any mistakes 😀
or my language was not that good

I bought a msi GT70 2pc dominator 895 last year it has gtx870m mxm gpu I'm considering to upgrade it to gtx970m mxm
I did a lot of research and found that there is improvement in
1. about 30% in frames and performance
2. about 20% less in wattage ( less by 22 watt )

but with this improvements there is some constraint
1. heatsink for 8xx series not matching 9xx series ( but I may do modification for that )
2. upgrading worth 500$

so is it worthing spending this amount of money for the upgrade

my laptop spec

cpu : 4800mq
gpu : gtx870m

I would not spend $500 for an upgrade for a laptop over 1 generation just for the video card. Wait another generation then either get the 970m cheaper or replace the full system.

I'm agree it is too much to spend 500$ for the last generation
but if I sell mine now let's assume the amount of money I get 900$ it is not enough to buy the new generation with 970m I need at least 1500$ for normal spec.
1500 - 900 = 600

on the other hand it still an option
