I'm torn between these two:

MSI GE62 2QE Apache Pro
i7-5700HQ 2.7/3.4GHz 6MB
RAM: 16GB
1TB(HDD)+128GB(SSD)
GTX965M 2GB

or

Asus G551JW ROG
i7-4720HQ 2.6/3.6 GHz 6MB
RAM 16GB
1TB(HDD)+24GB(SSD)
GTX960M 4GB

I wish the latter had more SSD :(

Not for gaming. For CAD/Rendering/3D Modeling. Which one is better? Tbh I'm not familiar with both brands, I care about performance & durability. Also which one has a better battery life? Less technical/overheat issues?

I think this mostly hinges on the value of VRAM in CAD. The Asus has twice the VRAM of the MSI. Though I'm not a fan of Asus laptops (I've had one die on me), I'd think that one would be the clincher. OTOH, if VRAM is not so important for what you're doing, then I'd probably side with the MSI.

Why not get an engineering/CAD workstation laptop?
