I bought a refurbished USFF PC for an "emulator box" and it works better than expected given how cheap it was. It has an i5-3570S with the Intel HD 2500. Little did i know it has an MXM 3 slot. I didn't even know what it was until i looked it up. So, apparently i can put a mobile GPU in it. However, i know nothing about mobile GPUs. What i want is for it to be able to play Gamecube/Wii a bit better. So here are my questions.
1. How do i learn what is compatible with the slot on my board if i can't find the manual for the PC i have? The card that was an option for this pc was a AMD Radeon HD 7650A (MXM) part number 687445-001. Which is a 3.0 card... I think.
2. The cheapest i can find is a Quadro FX880 1GB MXM 3.0a. It is about $33 CAD. Is that even an upgrade from HD 2500? Will the 3.0a work?
3. 99% of the cards on eBay come from laptops and so do not have heat sinks. The case has a fan right where the card slots in but how to i find a heat sink that will fit?
